Novgorod region will allocate more than 420 million rubles for the reconstruction of water treatment plants.

Deputies of the Novgorod Regional Duma at a meeting on February 28 adopted changes to the regional budget, according to which over three years more than 420 million rubles will be received for the reconstruction of water treatment plants. This was reported by the press service of the Government of the region.

In total, 162.6 million rubles will be allocated for the reconstruction of water treatment plants in 2019, 136.1 million rubles in 2020, and 124.3 million rubles in 2021. The money will be distributed as subsidies to municipal budgets. The draft law on changes to the budget for 2019-2021 on Wednesday was submitted to the regional duma by the deputy prime minister of the region Yevgeny Bogdanov, and the deputies approved it by a majority vote.

The money envisaged for 2019, will be directed to the reconstruction of water treatment plants in Malaya Vishera and Podberezie. In 2020 and 2021, the reconstruction of the left-bank sewage treatment facilities of Veliky Novgorod is planned. It should be noted that within the framework of the regional project "Clean Water", by 2024, more than 80% of the population of the region will be provided with quality drinking water. Now this figure is 69%.
